About Us

ReviewBird is a SaaS product built by Schild & Roth, a digital agency based in Cologne, Germany. Our platform helps businesses turn customer feedback into their strongest growth lever — from automated review collection via email and SMS to white-labeled review widgets and AI-powered response generation. We’re growing fast, our product-market fit is strong, and we need a senior engineer who can take the technical reins and scale ReviewBird to the next level.

Your Role: Build, Ship, Iterate — Together

This isn’t a ticket-factory role. You’ll work directly with the founder and alongside our existing senior developer as part of a small, focused engineering team. We do regular check-ins every two days to align on priorities, review progress, and plan next steps — short and structured, no endless meetings. Speed matters — we ship features fast and iterate even faster.

You’ll work across the full ReviewBird codebase — backend, frontend, and scraper service. Together with your engineering teammate, you drive architecture decisions, ensure code quality, and ship features that reach real users.

We expect you to leverage AI-powered coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to dramatically accelerate development. Agentic coding isn’t optional — it’s how we work. Your experience as a senior engineer ensures the output is production-grade, secure, and well-architected.

ReviewBird is built to grow — big. You’ll design and evolve an architecture that can handle 10x our current load while maintaining security best practices. Think ahead, build for scale, and make smart decisions today that won’t become tomorrow’s bottleneck.

You’ll work closely with our existing senior developer and the founder. We believe in short feedback loops — regular video check-ins every two days keep everyone aligned without drowning in meetings. Async communication via Slack fills the gaps.

What You Bring: Senior-Level Skills Meet Ownership Mentality

We’re looking for someone who’s done this before — someone who can hit the ground running, collaborate with our existing dev team, and take co-ownership of ReviewBird’s technical direction.

Strong backend skills in PHP (ideally Symfony) combined with solid frontend capabilities. You’ve built, scaled, and maintained production applications serving real users.

You understand OWASP, authentication flows, data encryption, API security, and infrastructure hardening. You don’t treat security as an afterthought — it’s baked into everything you build.

Experience with NestJS or similar frameworks. You’re comfortable context-switching between PHP and TypeScript codebases daily.

You’ve designed systems that grew from small to large. You understand when to optimize, when to refactor, and how to build foundations that support rapid growth without collapsing under technical debt.

Daily async communication happens in English. You write clear updates, ask good questions, and flag blockers early.
